white washed / painted floors!

10/30/2011 § 2 Comments

Our floors are in and painted.  We wanted to pickle finish / white stain the floors, but ran out of time to experiment.  So the floors were painted with mix of wood sealer and white primer.  2 Coats.

It’s nice, though it shows a bit of yellow wood below,  and some areas show overlapping.  Painting translucent – not as easy as i’d thought.  Probably over time we will paint the floors solid white.

Overall, really happy with the result, and learned a lot for how to plan for our main home in the future!
