Brownstone door – FOUND!

Yesterday was unexpectedly good day. I was so happy that I had a hard time falling asleep!
1. We met with Marcello, who our architect Josh recommended to get quote for the doors. He is friendly, prompt and a good energy guy. His quote was about the same as others we have received, but we decided to give him the job. More to come once we start the work this Saturday!
2. I went to Eddie’s Salvage in Clinton Hill again for the 5th or 6th time, now having decided on a ok door – but to my surprise found a GREAT door that just came in.
3. Marcello was kind enough to meet me at Eddie’s, take the door for his shop and drop me off home.
Whew, trust me, there was a lot of running around in-between, but at least we got the door in the works now!
Here is the door we found. It’s 3″ thick, nice a solid. We like the weathered wood, but our arch is painted with thick red paint and I am not going to try to strip that down – so all will be painted black.
Our current door… What were they thinking?
Hopefully our new door will look something close to this. (Just the doors, not all the details and lovely architecture. That’s $$$$$$)
